ISS Tracker


I.S.S. Tracker and Trip Tagger – remotely similar names, remotely similar function yet different purpose. The I.S.S. tracker is a a javascript based utility to calculate the location of a satellite at any particular time, in that case the ISS where this abbreviation stands for International Space Station. The ISS is a habitable artificial satellite, in low Earth orbit.

Its first component launched into orbit in 1998, and the ISS is now the largest artificial body in orbit and can often be seen with the naked eye from Earth. There is a lot of interesting info about this project to research at the NASA Space Stadion page here.

The ISS Tracker is for interested folks to find out where the station is “flying” at the moment. You can find the tracker on this ISS Tagger page here.
